Room Setup Tips
TV Placement Height
The center of your TV screen should be at eye level when seated. For most couches, this means the center of the screen should be about 42 inches from the floor.
Wall Clearance
Leave at least 2 inches of clearance on each side of the TV for ventilation. For wall-mounted TVs, ensure the mount can support the TV's weight.
Avoid Glare
Position the TV perpendicular to windows when possible. If your room has lots of natural light, consider a TV with anti-glare coating.
Sound Considerations
If using a soundbar, account for its width (usually close to the TV width) and depth (3–5 inches) when planning your setup.
Planning Your TV Room Layout
A well-planned room layout can make the difference between an immersive viewing experience and an uncomfortable one. The Room Planner helps you experiment with different arrangements before moving any heavy furniture.
Start by selecting a room template that matches your space, or enter custom dimensions. Then choose the TV size you're considering. The planner shows a proportionally accurate top-down view of your room with draggable furniture pieces. As you move items around, the viewing distance is calculated in real-time, with color-coded feedback telling you whether you're in the ideal range.
Remember that the viewing distance is measured from the center of the TV to the center of the seating position. In practice, you might sit slightly closer or farther depending on your exact seating position on the couch.
