About TVFits

TVFits is a free online tool designed to help you visualize and compare TV screen sizes before making a purchase. Whether you're upgrading from a 55" to a 65", trying to figure out if a 75" will fit on your wall, or calculating the optimal viewing distance for your living room — we've got you covered.

Our tools use standard geometric formulas and industry-recognized viewing distance standards (THX, SMPTE) to provide accurate recommendations. All calculations happen in your browser — no server processing, no data storage, no signup required.

TV dimensions are calculated using the standard 16:9 aspect ratio formula. Given a diagonal measurement D:

Viewing distances are based on the angular resolution of the human eye (~1 arc-minute) and the pixel density at various resolutions. For 4K content, the optimal distance is approximately the TV diagonal divided by 12 (in feet).
